Dive into Oblivion. Elder Scrolls IV review.

For some reasons, I cannot do a good opening for this review.
To put it more simple, I had so many ideas I didn't even know where to start.
After listing down the possible lead(Isi). I've decided to do this; Enjoy ol' dear friends of mine.

_____________________________

A remarkably game done by the creators. Oblivion can easily be an extremely good game for gamers.

This sequel, is like a superbly upgraded version of the predecessor, Morrowind except it is now more realistic, which you can never walk through the wall and fly around anymore and land on someone else rooftop anymore.

Anyways, onwards to the gameplay.

GAMEPLAY.

Before you start your adventure, the first thing you have to do is to create your character.
The character creator is indeed fascinating and limitless. Well, if you think your nose is too big, you can slide the scale to make it smaller, the same goes for eye, eyelids, hair, skin colour. Ok, I can go on forever. In other words, the character creator potential is limitless.

Moreover, you can choose the race you desire. If you feel like being a cat person and enjoy being both nimble and fast(and having the sexy stripes and pointy cat ears xD) , go for the Khajit or if you wanna have scales and breathe underwater with those cool looking fins and vicious eye, choose the Argonian instead. Or If you want to keep your humanity and be a good(evil) merchant, there is always be an Imperial race to offer. Well, there is still the over-stereotypical Orc and elf to choose from so it's

A female Khajit. Meow

An Argonian. Cool fins..

Each race has different skills and unique abilities to start with. For example being a Redguard, grants you a unique magic spell that add massive bonus skills points fortification when you cast them. Other than skills points fortifications, there are still unique magics like, opening a lock without using a key or a lock pick, making someone like you, being invisible and many more.

What's kick ass is the custom class that you can create for yourself. Whether you want your character to be a combat specialist, stealth, or magic, it's all up to you. There will be seven major skills you can choose. It's like choosing talents in WoW.

After creating your desired character, the games start.
You were thrown into prison without knowing what you did wrong. Then, a dark elf opposite of the cell will start to make you feel miserable by using some sarcasm and harsh languages. Ignore it, there is nothing you can do... for now *grin*.

The first thing you will see is the gorgeous graphical landscape, stunning scenerys, excellent audio which you can hear the bird twitting, rivers flowing, the breeze of wind brushing against the trees, mother nature sure looks real in this game. If you think that's real wait until you enter the city. So, now you can either choose to finish the quest that the Emperor gave or go do some dungeon exploring or tomb raiding. It's your choice. It's freedom has never been so sweet.

There tons of side quest to finish, especially for the major guilds available in this game. You can join up a guild and complete their missions or quest to gained rank and valuable loot at the same time.

Cyrodill is a very huge place indeed, perhaps it will take you roughly 20 minutes to get to another city if you follow the road. The map tab is very friendly indeed, giving you friendly features from a journal to a quest tracker. The quest tracker is a very useful tool, there will be an arrow marked on to your quest's target, be it is an item, a person, a dungeon or any matter. So, if you are lost next time, look for the arrow.

Once upon a time, there are 3 little pigs.....

Fire! Magic owns.

Although the scenery are drop dead gorgeous and having bandits or wild animals attacking you is fun, it is still a pain if you have to walk from point A to B, especially if it's a few cities away.
Have no fear gamers, the games allow you fast travel, you will be teleported to the desired location.

The game mechanics are very realistic and logic like I mention earlier. If you've been caught stealing by anyone or trying to kill or cause hurt towards innocent bystanders just for the heck of it, be prepare to face the consequences. You will either be getting your ass back to prison or you can always keep a lockpick to attempt a great escape or pay a fine or retaliate.

Unlike any other RPG, if you save a town from an Oblivion gate, the people will really greet you as hero. In other words, the game will go on according to your actions. If you were being an asshole going around killing people, they will hate you and show you a sour face.

Breathtaking I presume.

The A.I is working pretty well in the game. Unlike Japanese RPG or MMORPG, the A.I in this game has a schedule to follow. You will cattch them walking down the streets to their shop in the morning and going back to their homes at night. Designs are incredibly unique, each A.I has a different face features and clothing except for the guards in each city, which they all look the same in terms of uniform or the face.
Lockpicks can be used to unlocked locked doors that prevented you from entering. Trespassing is a crime, so make sure no one sees you. There will be a mini game if you decide to pick the lock, if you manage to open the locks with breaking the tumblers, the door will be unlocked.
Sometimes A.I doesn't act accordingly. Breaking in to their house in the middle of the night and wake them up for chat and they'll treat it as if like nothing happened. And not to mention, the repetitive lines.

Dungeon exploring is fun in this game, there will be over 100 dungeons for you to explore each with a unique layout and settings. Most of the dungeons delivers, dark and eerie feeling that sends shiver to your spines. The foggy, cob-webbing, and the poor lighting will really give you a goosebumps. It really does make you feel like you are walking through a dungeon.

Conclusion.

Graphics, storyline, side quest, gameplay are all perfect.
The idea and concept of freedom in this game is very addictive, facing the computer for at least 8-10 hours is normal while playing this game. The game is so good that it sucks you in, you will become addicted until you don't even realize you are in the game. The complete freedom concept of the game allows you to play over and over again using different kind of gameplay to win the game. You can play as a thief to steal items and lockpicking doors, or play as an assasin that kills for money, or a merchant that sells item and invest on shops. It is once again your choice.

The designs and the architecture of the buildings and landscapes are simply remarkable. The designs are so fully detail that you can even look what's beyond the horizon.

You have alot of weapons to choose from, thousands of magic spell to learn and a variety of classes to choose from. Allowing you to create something like a mage wielding a war hammer that is a size of a child, or a heavy-armored archer that can use destructive magic. The possibilities are endless.

Resulting, this game is RPG,FPS, stealth, and also an action game. It depends on how you play it.

The concept of freedom is intriguing having more choice is always good, the graphics and designs that takes your breath away, Limitless yet endless possibilities on class creation and not to mention smart and intelligent A.I that acts according to the players' action.

This is not a game to be miss.
Respectively this game really worth a 10/10. Thumbs up Bathesda.
